Student Nurse Elective Placements

Please note, in the period leading up to, and immediately after, the London 2012 Olympics, we are unable to host elective placements. This will be from 1st July until 1st October 2012.

Barts and The London NHS Trust currently hosts pre-registration Adult and Child branch nursing students from City University. We are able to provide a wide range of learning opportunities and can offer Elective placements to student nurses studying at other Universities.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from Pre-Registration Nursing students on Diploma or Degree pathways.

Additional information

The Trust supports a large number of student nurses and will not be able to accommodate all elective requests. Students who are interested in coming to our Trust are asked to consider their reasons for applying to us carefully. They will be expected to provide clearly defined Learning Outcomes to support their request and will require pre-placement screening to include Occupational Health and CRB check.

Due to the upcoming move of clinical services, wards and departments at Barts and The London NHS Trust, we will not be hosting Elective Placements during the time of the move. This will be from 1 November 2011 to 1 May 2012.
