We have an ecumenical and multi-faith team of chaplains who provide support and pastoral care, not only for patients but also for staff. Representatives from the Church of England, Roman Catholic and Free Churches and Jewish and Muslim faiths are employed by the Trust. As well as the Chaplaincy, there are two Muslim prayer rooms for males and females with ablution areas at The Royal London Hospital. Find out more >>
Childcare

Barts and The London is signed up to the national Childcare Voucher scheme.
Flexible working - fit your job around your life
Barts and The London offers some of Britain’s most progressive flexible working conditions, enabling you to meet different priorities and interests at different stages in your career. Options include shorter working hours that fit in with the school day, job-sharing and career breaks. We also offer special leave for caring, paternity, adoption, bereavement and public service.
Legislation, which came into effect in April 2003, gives employees with a child under the age of six, or a child with a disability under the age of 18, the statutory right to request flexible working. The Trust already goes further than this, offering all staff – not only those with parental responsibilities – the right to request flexible working.
To coincide with the statutory arrangements, the Trust has developed a flexible working policy and a procedure for dealing with such requests from staff, supported by training courses for managers.
