NIHR Portfolio and CSP

Research funded by the NIHR and partners should be eligible for adoption onto the United Kingdom Clinical Research Network (UKCRN) portfolio.  For full details on the eligibility criteria please view the following UKCRN webpage:
www.ukcrn.org.uk/index/clinical/csp/background.html

It is important to note that in future the NIHR Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN) will be the only route for access to NHS Service Support Costs in England. 'NHS Support for Science Funding' allocation to organisations providing NHS services will no longer exist. Studies that are accepted for inclusion onto the Portfolio will therefore have automatic access to NHS Service Support Costs via the NIHR CLRN, and access to Treatement Costs via the normal arrangements for commissioning patient care. Studies that are not in the Portfolio will not have automatic access to Service Support Costs and will not have automatic access to the resources, including active research management, of the UKCRN.

From 18 November 2008 all portfolio study applications will be dealt with via the CSP system.  For more information on the CSP system please view the following UKCRN webpage: http://www.ukcrn.org.uk/index/clinical/csp/background.html

A guidance document, for researchers, on the CSP system is available to download below:
