Costing questionnaire

The Joint R&D Office requires some simple details in order to provide you with a costings spreadsheet:

  • The Name of the Research Council you are applying to
  • Proposed start date
  • Duration of grant
  • Deadline for submission if applicable
  • The type of staff you are looking for (Clinical Academics, Nurses, Technicians, Research Assistants and so forth) and, where possible, the proposed Grade and starting point that you would like. Advice on this can be provided by HR or the Joint R&D office.
  • If you have a member of staff who already is employed by the College or Trust, or who is moving across from another institution we need to know who they are so we can determine their current grade and increment dates.

The Joint R&D office will then provide you with a spreadsheet listing staff members complete with Basic Salaries. London Weighting (where applicable), National Insurance contributions and Superannuation contributions. 

The spreadsheet is the Joint Research Office's record of the costing quote that we provided and the figures for salaries and overheads on your application will be checked against our quote.

On the spreadsheet are other headings for Travel, Consumables, Equipment etc and these are provided to help you budget for your overall application. All sub-totals will tally up in the summary box at the top of the sheet.
