Biography:
I qualified from City University, London in 1999 with a BSc Honours degree in Nursing and Human Sciences. On qualifying I worked as a staff nurse on Harmsworth Ward, St Bartholomew's Hospital which specialised in male urology. In 2003, I undertook the role of Practice Development Nurse for Surgery and Anaesthetics. I was then seconded to develop a new role as Pre-operative Outreach nurse for a year. I returned to urology in 2005 as a Urology Nurse Specialist, and more recently have become specialised in prostate assessment and endourology working closely with Mr Buchholz and Mr Masood. I am currently completeing an MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice.
Research programmes:
Clinical audit. Follow-up clinics and update of database for trans-ethanol ablation of the prostate trial (TEAP). Up to date knowledge of current clinical research in the treatment of BPH.
Special interests:
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract disorders in male patients. Nurse-led trial without catheter clinics, clean intermittent self catheterisation/ dilatation clinics. Course leader for the trust catheterisation Course.
