All research carried out in the NHS or in conjunction with the NHS needs to have research governance approval.
The governance approval process protects not only the participants but also the researchers. We need to ensure that all research activity here is covered by our insurance and, like any good insurance company, that requires lots of information. We try to simplify and streamline the process as much as possible, but there are fundamentals that are national requirements with which we must adhere.
To help guide you through the complexities we have produced document checklists, including a Protocal Template for studies. This covers most types of studies but, if you have any problems, please get in touch with us. We appreciate it is not always a straightforward system but that is why our experienced staff are here to help.
