Research Design Service London

Research Design Service London (RDS London) is part of the NIHR and exists to provide help to those preparing research proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research.

Advice is provided free of charge and is available through use of online resource and consultations with experts. Priority is given to those applying for NIHR Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) funding.

How can the RDS London help?

RDS London can advise on all aspects of preparing grant applications, including:

  • Formulating research questions
  • Building an appropriate research team
  • Involving patients and the public
  • Designing a study
  • Appropriate methodologies
  • Regulatory and ethical issues
  • Advice on writing lay summaries
  • Identifying the resources required for a successful project.
