Comprehensive Local Research Network

We host the Central and East London Comprehensive Clinical Research Network (CLRN). Our CLRN is one of 25 local networks set up across England.

CLRN aims include: 

  • Ensuring that patients and healthcare professionals from all parts of the country and from all areas of healthcare are able to participate in and benefit from clinical research;
  • Improving the quality, speed and coordination of clinical research by removing the barriers to research in the NHS;
  • Streamlining and performance managing NHS support for clinical studies to ensure that the NHS Service Support Costs of research are met in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Unifying and streamlining administrative procedures associated with regulation, governance, reporting and approvals;
  • Strenghtening research collaborations with industry and ensuring that the NHS can meet the health resaerch needs of industry;
  • Further integrating health research and patient care.

CLRN infrastructure provides support to many areas of publically funded disease and clinical research.

As host organisation the Trust is responsible for providing Finance and HR services.
