Barts and The London Charity

Barts and The London Charity is an independent charity supporting Barts Health NHS Trust, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and The School of Community and Health Sciences.  The Charity’s vision is to be a leading charity promoting excellence in healthcare. Its mission is to raise, invest and grant funds for innovation and improvement in patient care, medical research and education.

Barts and The London Charity awards grants to support innovations in healthcare and medical research through the following themes:

• Strategic Research
• Enhancement in Service Delivery
• Innovative Training and Development
• Patient and Community Engagement 

Grant Awarding Processes

Small Project Grants

These are considered by The Charity’s Executive Team and the decisions ratified by the Board of Trustees.

Project Grants

Preliminary requests will be considered by the Executive and where relevant will consult with the beneficiary organisation. 

Successful requests will be invited to submit a full application which will be taken through a review process and considered by the Grants Committee and the decisions ratified by the Board of Trustees.

Research Project and Training Fellowship Grants

These requests will undergo external peer review and will then be considered by the ‘Research Grants Committee’ and the decisions ratified by the Board of Trustees.
