Anaesthetic CT1

Designed for novice anaesthetic specialist trainees in their first three months of training. The course consists of four lecture based days followed by the simulation training day, in which the trainees have the opportunity to practice a variety of common anaesthetic scenarios within the context of their 4 weeks prior learning themes. For North-East Anaesthetic School trainees only.

Multidisciplinary Obstetric Simulated Emergency Scenarios (MOSES)

Designed for senior obstetricians, obstetric anaesthetists and midwives. Candidates are given opportunities to practice labour ward and obstetric theatre based emergency drills within a framework of promoting effective multi-disciplinary team working. Team bookings only.

Designed to allow anaesthetic specialist trainees to manage both common and unusual obstetric scenarios, without risk to mother or baby, followed by discussion & debrief with an experienced consultant obstetric anaesthetist.

 Acute Paediatric Trauma (APT) course

We are pleased to announce that this exciting and innovative course is now available for all staff involved in the initial management of paediatric trauma.  (ST3 and above for doctors)

The aim of the course is to allow all those involved in the immediate care of paediatric trauma patients to practice their skills and learn new ones.  To do this, you will work as a team to respond to trauma scenarios in the simulation centre.  There will be time to discuss the scenarios and their management.
