General/plain film x-rays

At Barts and The London hospitals we offer a walk-in service to any patient who has been referred from their GP.

X-rays are available at all our sites - Mile End, The London Chest, Royal London and Barts Hospitals - between 9am-1pm and 2-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

We are currently piloting an evening service at Mile End hospital between 5-8pm. If this is successful, this service will be spread across all sites.

These x-rays are usually quite straightforward and involve a part of your body being placed as close to the x-ray film or plate as possible.

You will not be given the results immediately. A full report will be sent to the doctor who referred you within seven days.

It is important that you inform us if you are pregnant.
