Referral guidelines

The Maternity Unit has moved into the Women’s Centre in the new building. For full details please click on the link.

All obstetric services for The Royal London and the Barkantine Birth Centre are based at The Royal London Hospital.

Women can access maternity services directly by contacting the clinic on 020 359 42573.

Women should be referred as soon as their pregnancy is confirmed so that their booking appointment with the midwife is by 10-12 weeks.

Women with medical complications such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes will be seen urgently to ensure care pathways are established.
