Referral guidelines
Referrals to the Cardiothoracic Surgical Service are mostly referrals on from either cardiology consultants or respiratory consultants for tertiary surgical care.
Referrals should be directed to a specific consultant or via the Patient Focus Team (Cardiothoracic Surgery) to the surgical team for patient choice patients. These patients will then be allocated to the surgeon with the shortest waiting times.
