Barts and the London Eye Service operate sub-specialised clinics for the assessment of ophthalmic conditions. Imaging equipment includes full anterior segment and retinal photography (including non-mydriatic photography and fluorescein angiography), and B-scan ultrasonography.
Visual field testing equipment is available on both sites. Orthoptists, optometrists and a dispensing optician operates clinics at Barts and The London hospitals, and when deemed necessary, appointments with the orthoptists and optometrists are scheduled to coincide with the patient’s appointment with the consultant.

If you are unsure of which consultant to address your referral to then please address it as “Dear Doctor” – the ophthalmology team will read the referral and assign the patient to the most appropriate clinic.
