Dental outreach centres

Our hospital together with Barts and The London, School of Medicine and Dentistry manages two Academic Dental Clinics, in the Barkantine Centre on the Isle of Dogs, east London and in Southend-on-Sea in Essex.

These Academic Dental Clinics allow training of our students in a primary care setting and provide local residents with much needed high-quality NHS dental services.

Our clinics are equipped with the latest dental equipment and patients are treated by students under the close supervision of senior academic and NHS staff.

Treatments are free and include all types of fillings, simple crowns and bridges, straight forward/simple root canal treatment, dentures and simple extractions. Patients may book themselves into the Academic Dental Clinics.
