About us

Barts and The London Dental Hospital is based in Whitechapel in the east end of London.

We know that visiting a dentist, whether it’s for routine dental work or complex treatment can be worrying, but our highly trained team including dentists and nurses will be here to welcome, care and support you throughout your visit.

Our team is highly specialised in every aspect of dental health - from healthier gums and nice smiles to fitting crowns and bridges. Whatever your age or dental health need, you can be assured that you are being cared for or advised by some of the country’s leading dental team.

Advanced treatments and technology

Our highly qualified dentists have been instrumental in the development of specialist dental treatments and surgery.  As a result, Barts and The London Dental Hospital uses the most advanced treatments to care for patients. The hospital houses state-of-the-art training facilities and treatment areas thanks to charitable donations and a Department of Health £5 million investment programme.

We lead the way in caring for patients born with missing adult teeth (hypodontia) and advanced treatment approaches include the combined use of tooth implants, bone augmentation and braces. This is supported with the latest software technology, which allows for accurate placement of each tooth implant and better patient outcomes.

International reputation for excellence in research and training

Our hospital has close links with Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and as a result we are continually pushing the boundaries of medical research to ensure that we are able to provide the most advanced and successful diagnostic and treatment technologies.

Some of our research includes tissue regeneration to treat gum disease - this technique has already been used in some of our clinics.  We are also working closely with various departments within the Queen Mary School to investigate, review and provide clinical research for precancerous oral lesions.
