Referrals are usually made via GPs or from other healthcare professionals.
The Clinical Immunology Service at Barts and the London provides secondary and tertiary level referral services for patients with a wide range of immune based disorders including Primary Immunodeficiencies, angioedema and urticaria and Behcet’s Disease.
Patients are seen in dedicated specialist clinics by Consultants or Specialist Registrars or in one of our Nurse led clinics by a Nurse specialist. Care is focussed on the needs of the individual and achieving a specific diagnosis and appropriately tailored therapy.
Many of the disorders seen in the clinic require ongoing therapies, but many of these can be provided at home supported by our specialist nursing team.
The Consultants provide networked care across South and East London and Essex, as well as having nationally and internationally renowned expertise. Referrals are accepted from within the sector and from further afield if appropriate to the patients needs e.g. training for home therapy.
