Dr Meadows coordinates the activities of the paediatric gastroenterology department and collaborates with the academic unit. He is responsible for the running of our network of outreach clinics throughout the south east of England.
Dr Meadows is a member of the council of the British Society of paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition and chair of the Clinical Standards Committee.
He is also a member of the Royal College of paediatrics and child nutrition committee, and the British Society of Gastroenterology Clinical standards committee.
He is an active member of the British Artificial Nutrition Surgery (BANS), and sits on the Paediatric Intestinal Failure group.
Dr Meadows is a member of two patient support groups: National Association of Crohns and Colitis (NACC) and Pseudo Obstruction Research Trust (PORT), in which capacity he acts as a medical advisor.
Paediatric gastroenterology and general medicine
The provision of artificial nutrition support and dysphagia in children. Dr Meadows lectures around the country on feeding difficulties in children and obesity.
A senior examiner for the MRCPCH exam at the Royal College and external examiner for the University of London at St Georges Hospital (for undergraduate exams).
