Strabismus surgery

Strabismus surgery is indicated when there is a poor cosmetic appearance. Strabismus surgery aims to re-align the eyes so that they straighten. This is done by adjusting the muscle insertions in one or both of the eyes.

The orthoptist will take measurements of your child’s strabismus in preparation for the surgery, and the consultant will discuss with you the best surgical procedure for re-aligning the eyes.
