Biography:

Simon qualified in both medicine and dentistry from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He undertook basic surgical training in the Northeast of England before going on to obtain specialist training in Cardiff & Manchester. He was appointed a Consultant in 2006. As well as working at Barts and The London he is also a Consultant at PrincessAlexandraHospital, Harlow.

Simon is the Chair of the North East London Cancer Network Tumour Advisory Board for Head & Neck  Cancer. He is Clinical Lead for Head & Neck Services at PrincessAlexandraHospital.

Simon is involved in the training of junior surgeons, medical & dental students.

Areas of work:

The surgical management of oral cavity & oropharyngeal tumours, salivary gland malignancy and facial cutaneous tumours including microvascular reconstructive surgical techniques and oral rehabilitation.

Research programmes:

Clinical research and published on subjects including the management of oral cancer and has presented at numerous national and international meetings.
