Judith qualified from The London Hospital Medical College Dental Institute. She returned to London Hospital Medical College Dental Institute after OMFS SHO jobs and completed a MSc in Experimental Oral Pathology. She then continued her research, completing a PhD at both the Eastman Dental Institute and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund investigating the role of integrins in malignant oral epithelium.
In 1998 she was appointed Lecturer/Honorary SpR in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at UMDS, which later merged with KCL. She completed her ACCOMS training at GSTT & KCHT and was awarded a CCST in Academic Oral Surgery in May 2003. She was appointed Honorary Consultant in Oral Surgery at GSTT & KCHT in October 2005. In February 2008 she was appointed Senior Clinical Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in Oral Surgery at QMUL/Barts and The London NHS Trust.

The role of cell adhesion molecules, in particular integrins in oral cancer.
The educational aspects of dentistry and oral surgery in particular. She is a member of the Association of British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Teaching Committee and is becoming more interested in curriculum planning and assessment methods.
