Neurology
Our neurology service provides support for a wide range of neurological conditions, management and treatments. The service has the benefit of having all supporting specialist services on site in order to provide seamless care for our patients.
The team includes six full-time consultants to treat all the standard neurorology conditions.
Our academic department of neurology is headed by Professor Gavin Giovannoni who is an international leader in the field of neuro-inflammation.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
We are a regional centre for MS and this service is led by Professor Giovannoni and Dr Turner. There are disease management programmes and the unit is a leading trial centre for developing patient-centred treatment.
Epilepsy
We have two epilepsy consultants and two specialist nurses who lead a team with full access to specialist epilepsy clinics, a first seizure service and videotelemetry and epilepsy surgery. We are also a leading drug trials unit, which means that our patients are often first to benefit from many ground-breaking new treatments.
