Neuro therapy
Recognising that neurological conditions and medical treatments can have a huge impact on a patient’s day-to-day activity and function, a large part of our care is to offer our patients rehabilitation, through a range of therapies.
Our therapists provide a complete rehabilitation package for our patients, whether they are receiving care whilst staying in hospital (inpatients) or at appointments (outpatients).
Our therapists can address physical, cognitive, and communication problems, and our treatment plans are designed for each individual patient. The plans ensure that each patient gets the best possible outcome, following, or in conjunction with any medical treatment.
Our multi-disciplinary neuro-therapy team includes:
- Neuro-physiotherapists
- Neuro Occupational Therapists
- Neuro Speech and Language Therapist
- Neuro Dietitians
Rehabilitation for patients who are staying in hospital begins with thorough assessments to determine individual needs, clinical problem solving, treatment planning and goal setting. At all times our therapists are available to offer advice and help to solve problems for every patient.
Our treatment includes:
- Rehabilitation therapy to enable patients to achieve their optimum level of functioning.
- Empowering patients to take control of their own rehabilitation pathway, with ongoing discussions with relatives and carers.
- Provision of equipment and referrals to specialist equipment services.
- Referrals and recommendations for ongoing inpatient and community rehabilitation.
- Planning for safe and timely discharges.
- If transferred to local hospital services, we ensure all transfer documentation and communication is delivered for a smooth patient pathway of care.
