We are well above the national average for colon cancer screening with a 97.5-100 per cent examination completion rate.
Protecting patients against infection
We take infection control seriously. MRSA infection rates at Barts and The London hospitals compare well with most other specialist hospitals in London and we are implementing several measures to improve this further. Our hospital acquired infection rates are low in Digestive Diseases
Patient satisfaction
We regularly survey how satisfied patients are with their experience in the endoscopy unit. The results of the surveys are (anonymously) read out to the staff each month. This gives us the opportunity to adjust our practice according to the views of our patients. A recent survey showed that 92 per cent of patients were satisfied with the service provided.
