Information for our patients

Throughout your treatment with us, you will receive a range of information leaflets and other materials that will help to explain the treatments and procedures that you will undergo. You will be fully supported by your Clinical Nurse Specialist and medical team who will provide you with individualised information about your treatment.

When you’re affected by cancer, having the right kind of information and support, at the right time, is essential. The Vicky Clement Jones Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at Barts provides a confidential, drop-in service for anyone affected by cancer. Staffed by a Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialist and trained volunteers, we are able to provide:

  • Literature on all aspects of living with cancer
  • Internet access to guide people to appropriate information resources
  • An opportunity to discuss treatments, side effects and other cancer related issues
  • An opportunity to talk to someone in a private, comfortable quiet room
  • Over the phone information and support for those not able to access the service in person.

We are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4.30pm except bank holidays. You can find us on the ground floor of the west wing at Barts. Just drop in or call us on 020 346 56611. If you are calling outside opening hours ring Macmillan free on 0800 808 00 00 or visit www.Macmillan.org.uk.
