Barts Cancer Centre | For patients | Staying in hospital
At Barts Cancer Centre we are dedicated to ensuring you are as comfortable as possible during your stay with us. Our new building has been designed to improve patients’ experience and to protect your privacy and dignity. Most of our wards are single sex, every room has an ensuite bathroom and 40% of beds on our wards are in large, single rooms. All other rooms have either two or four beds with lots of space in between the beds. So there’s plenty of room for your visitors.
You will have your own fridge by your bed so you can bring in your own food and drinks. We have day rooms on the wards so if you are feeling well enough, you can use our comfortable sofas to read or watch TV, or even have your meals at the table with other patients.
The rooms are light and airy and temperature is controllable in every room, rather than remotely.
Ensuite bathrooms are designed as wet rooms with no shower trays. Showers are assisted for those who require extra support when washing.
