New - Cancer Surgical Day Unit

The Cancer Surgical Day Unit will open on Thursday 5th January 2012. It will be known as Percival Pott ward and is located on the third floor of East Wing, Bart's.

Percival Pott ward will operate from 7am-7pm Monday to Friday and will be staffed from nurses who are already employed within the Cancer CAU.

With the exception of Wednesdays, breast and gynae oncology surgical lists will continue to run daily.

The ward will also accommodate all cancer patients who had previously received care on Henry Butlin ward which has now relocated to Royal London Hospital, this will include patients undergoing:

1. Lymph node biopsies
2. Hickman/Portacath insertion
3. Interventional Radiological procedures
4. Ocular biopsies
5. Pentamidine nebulisers
6. PICC Line insertion
