Samir G. Agrawal is a senior lecturer and honorary consultant in hematology for Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, at Queen Mary, the University of London, in the United Kingdom. Based at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, he is the director of the Stem Cell Laboratory in the institution; head of Diagnostic Immunophenotyping; clinical lead for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia; and audit lead for Haemato-Oncology.
Dr Agrawal received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, graduating with honors. He received his doctorate in immunology from the University of Paris, France.
As chief investigator, he has designed, funded, and implemented several studies on myelodysplastic syndromes, invasive aspergillosis, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. A member of both the CLL and MDS NCRI subcommittees, he is also a NICE reviewer for several assessments and is the haemato-oncology representative on the DoH IVIg initiative.
Dr Agrawal has had numerous publications in journals such as Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Immunology, Blood, British Medical Journal, Postgraduate Medical Journal, Thorax, Leukemia, British Journal of Haematology, Leukemia and Lymphoma, J
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and a Fellow at the Royal College of Pathologists. He is also a member of the British Society of Haematology.
