Our support services

The Community Stroke Team (CST) is a multi-disciplinary team of health care practitioners providing assessment and rehabilitation to adults who have had a stroke. The team provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology and has a Bengali link worker.

They provide rehabilitation in people’s homes and community settings for 12 weeks following a stroke, and work with and support the carers and relatives of the patients as well as other professionals or agencies involved in their care.

The aim is to help people who have had a stroke to achieve their identified goals. Examples of work by the team include providing assessment, treatment and social care to people who have suffered complex physical and neurological disability as a result of stroke; helping to reduce the negative impact of disability such as ill health, dependency and social isolation; and helping people where possible to return to work and achieve other goals.
