Medic One, a documentary programme about London's Air Ambulance the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) screened on BBC1 at 10.35pm on Monday 1 June. The 50-minute programme primarily focused on the patients' pre-hospital treatment at the scene of their accidents and also, in some cases, their trauma care received at The Royal London Hospital. The programme used the title Medic One which is the call sign of the air ambulance doctor on duty. It was filmed between December 2008 and May 2009 by North One TV, who were commissioned to make the programme for the BBC.
