How to refer to us

Depending on the urgency, and in some cases the specialty, there are different routes to follow for referring patients to services at Barts and The London NHS Trust, as outlined in the referral routes flowchart below. Please note that the preferred method for referring patients is Choose and Book.  Therefore, wherever possible, to ensure your referral is dealt with swiftly, please use Choose and Book. Two week wait urgent suspected cancer referrals

The following Cancer 2ww services are now available on Choose and Book. Choose and Book is the preferred method for referring patients into these services.

Please note that the preferred method for referring patients is Choose and Book.  Wherever possible, to ensure your referral is dealt with swiftly, please use Choose and Book. 

GPs can alternatively submit paper referrals, addressed either to a specific consultant, or ‘any’ consultant, at Barts and The London NHS Trust. These can either be posted or faxed to us. Most of these should be sent to the Trust’s ‘Central Appointments Office’ (address supplied) but there are some exceptions (see ‘Exceptions’ below):
