Travelling to and from Mile End Hospital

Mile End Hospital is located in Mile End in the East End of London. There are excellent transport links to the hospital


By tube

TubeThe nearest underground stations are Mile End, which is served by the District, Central and Hammersmith and City Lines and Stepney Green, which is served by the District and Hammersmith and City Lines.

By bus

BusThe following buses stop outside the hospital; number 25 on Mile End Road. The following buses stop close to the hospital:
number 309 on Globe Road, numbers 277 and D6 on Grove Road, numbers 8 and D6 on Roman Road and numbers D5 and D7 terminating at Mile End Station.


By car and taxi

CarMile End Hospital’s main entrance is situated in Bancroft Road E1.

You may turn into Bancroft Road from the Mile End Road only when approaching from the west. There is no entry to Bancroft Road when approaching from the other direction - ie no right turn - use Globe Road and Alderney Road instead.

Parking

Parking is limited. There are only four pay and display parking bays on the Mile End site. On site parking costs of 80p per 30 minutes. The meters accept 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins and no change is given.

There are pay and display meters in surrounding streets but the majority of spaces are for resident permit holders only.

Disabled access

There are 12 parking spaces for disabled badge holders within the hospital site and also outside the therapy unit centre in Longnor Road at no charge.

The main entrance is suitable for wheelchair users. There is lift access to all floors in the main hospital block.


By bike

Cycle parking for visitors (and staff) is provided at numerous sites around the Mile End Hospital complex, including at the main entrance from Bancroft Road. For full details see this map which shows the cycle parking facilities available. Note that there is a covered cycle parking shelter outside Burdett House.
