Home to London’s air ambulance and one the country’s leading trauma centres, our urology team is often called to cases where a patient’s urinary tract may have been damaged in an accident.

Kidneys can be affected, most commonly as a result of after road traffic accidents and, depending on the degree of the injury a range of treatments may be considered – from simple bed rest to the removal of the kidney in extreme cases.

Patients with injuries to their bladder and urethra will usually have surgical treatment to heal the injury and ensure that their urinary control is returned back to normal function.
